The Best Spray Tan Contouring System
Being successful in business is all about diversifying yourself in a way that allows you to stand out amongst the crowd as a spray tan artist in your town! Unique services and add-on options are a great way to elevate your client experience, position yourself as an expert in your field and create a highly sought-after service. One of these sought-after skills that can be introduced into your sunless biz is body contouring! Contouring has the ability to completely change and level-up your sunless business because of the way that it exponentially enhances your client’s results! The biggest benefit of including this option on your service menu is the inclusivity of it! It’s a misconception that in order to have a great looking contour your client has to already be sculpted and defined. Spray tan contouring can be for all body types and compositions! This is possible through applying spray tan solution to certain areas of the body in a way that changes the way the body appears by creating additional shadows and definition. Of course, this requires specific training and technique practice to be able to confidently go about contouring different body types in the most flattering way possible! Another important step in introducing contouring into your beauty biz is choosing the right equipment to make the contouring service easier on you, as the spray tan artist, and more effective for the client. Here’s the low-down on the best equipment to get your spray tan contouring journey started on the right food.
Iwata Silver Jet
The Silver Jet equipment for contouring is my absolute favorite contouring system! This contouring system allows you to perfectly create a flawless contour spray tan without having to adjust the settings on an HVLP system to get the perfect stream of spray for a defined contour. The Iwata Silver Jet system itself is a great option for adding contouring to in-studio and mobile businesses because of its compact and lightweight design. This also makes storage and operation in small work spaces a breeze no matter what business model you have. Customization is at the top of the list of benefits with using this system as well. The dial location on the Silver Jet can be used to control the airflow going through the system to the gun so that you can easily adjust the pressure of solution being expelled, and the technique and definition produced through your contour.
BCN Gun
There are two types of guns that can be used when offering contouring services, a gravity feeder or a bottom-feeder. I personally prefer a contour gun that is made as a bottom-feeder, such as with the BCN Gun. Essentially, this means that the bottom of the gun has a cup that holds the spray tan solution to move it through the airbrush gun instead of a gravity feed gun that has the solution cup placed on the top to feed the solution through the gun. Both of these options are completely up to personal preference, but the bottom-feeder style gun has been my choice for perfecting the entire contour experience for myself and my clients!
Overall, this contouring system has been the best and most reliable asset for introducing contouring into my sunless business over the years. I’ve been able to utilize this system to perfect my technique and offer a contouring service that has gone above and beyond my client’s expectations. The main goal in providing an experience within our sunless business’ is to “wow” our clients in a way that makes them feel extra excited about the service they were given and the results that unfold afterward!
